The news that a new season is on its way comes despite the fact that the series is the subject of a lawsuit, where the estate of "ER" creator Michael Crichton is accusing Warner of creating an unauthorized new version of the 90s series.
"The Pitt" bears some resemblance to "ER", among other things thanks to lead actor Noah Wyle.
The series premiered in January this year and the season finale is coming in April.
