Despite the announcement – the women's national team to Gamla Ullevi

Old Ullevi is set to lose its status as the national arena for the women's national football team, but Gothenburg will not be without a match when the Nations League takes place this year. One of three home matches will be played at Old Ullevi - the other two will be decided at Strawberry arena in Solna.

In December, Göteborgs-Posten reported that Gamla Ullevi will not be the national arena for the women's national team. The Football Association has chosen not to extend the agreement.

It's obviously very sad, it's a bit of a heartbreak, said Got events CEO Lotta Nibell to the newspaper.

Now, Gamla Ullevi will still get a visit from the national team when Wales awaits in the Nations League during the spring gathering on April 8. The home premiere against Italy on April 4 will be played at Strawberry arena in Solna, as well as the last match in the Nations League group stage against Denmark on June 3.

"It feels great that we get to play in front of our fans both in Stockholm and Gothenburg during the group stage of the Nations League", says national team captain Peter Gerhardsson to the association's website.

Sweden begins the group stage away against Denmark on February 21 and away against Wales on February 25. The away match against Italy will be played on May 30.
