Lobster fishing began at 7 a.m. on Monday - despite severe weather. According to local media, the Maritime and Air Rescue Centre received several alerts from fishermen who had suffered engine failures early in the day.
A day later, however, there were still a number of lobsters up for auction, when the first lobster box of the season was sold at the Gothenburg fish auction.
The opening price stood at 53,000 kronor per kilo - compared with last year's 51,000 kronor per kilo.
A large part of the money goes to the Swedish Coast Guard.
