Andersson received the award because he "designs furniture and products with the user in the center and subtle concepts that enhance our everyday actions with aha-experiences," the citation reads.
The Bruno Mathsson Prize is the largest design prize in the Nordic region with prize money of SEK 100,000. The award ceremony takes place at the Vandalorum Art and Design Museum in Värnamo in conjunction with the opening of an exhibition of Peter Andersson.
The award has been presented every year since 1984 by the Karin and Bruno Mathsson Foundation.
