The Danish newspaper has learned that the government will soon present a plan for investments that will apply during the years 2025 and 2026.

The money will be used in areas identified as most urgent, according to information to the Danish newspaper Weekendavisen.

The increase is happening, among other things, against the backdrop of last weekend's security conference in Munich, where US representatives announced that US forces in Europe should not be taken for granted. At the same time, the Danish defense intelligence service has assessed that Russia's capacity to wage war against other European countries in the near future is increasing if there is peace or a ceasefire in Ukraine and the US is no longer willing to defend Europe.

Currently, the defense budget, including military support to Ukraine, stands at 2.4 percent of GDP.
