A 16-year-old Swedish girl, who is detained in Sweden in connection with another case, has now been detained in her absence in Herning on Jutland in Denmark.

Denmark can therefore request that the girl be extradited there, reports Ritzau.

Prosecutor Christian Skov Paulsen has previously said that he will proceed with a European arrest warrant.

The girl was 15 years old when she allegedly traveled to Denmark together with a 14-year-old girl in June last year. Both are said to have been recruited by a criminal gang for the task of shooting and murdering a man in a suburb of Herning.

The man in question was not at home and the girls went home again without having carried out the task.

Several other people are suspected of involvement, including a 22-year-old Swedish man who is detained for having coordinated the murder attempt.
