The data, presented at a security conference in Copenhagen on Wednesday, represents a significant escalation in Russia’s hybrid warfare, according to PET (Denmark’s Security and Intelligence Service), Reuters reports.
The Danish Security and Intelligence Service claims that Russia has concluded that previous attacks with a broader focus have not deterred NATO from supporting Ukraine. Therefore, PET claims, Russia is instead targeting weapons production, which has a more direct impact on the front line.
Russia has repeatedly denied involvement in sabotage or hybrid warfare, and the country’s embassy in Copenhagen dismisses PET’s accusations as unfounded, Reuters writes.
