Italy's early 2–0 lead against Sweden at Gamla Ullevi (the match ended 2–2) put some pressure on the Danes, who at that point looked like they needed to take at least one point from Serbia to win the group and secure a World Cup spot.
Denmark solved that without any major problems.
Cecilie Fløe and Amalie Vangsgaard gave the visitors an early 2–0 lead. Serbia's Allegra Poljak quickly cut the deficit, but before the first half was over, Pernille Harder (penalty) and Vangsgaard (again) had scored for a 4–1 Danish lead at half-time.
There were no more goals and an undefeated Denmark won the group with 14 points. Italy finished with 9, Sweden with 8, and Serbia with 1 point.
