Denmark's government is to establish a fund to boost the defense, says Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
Details will be presented in the coming days, according to Frederiksen.
Information to DR indicates that it concerns a special fund for defense procurements and that there will be 50 billion Danish kronor – equivalent to approximately 75 billion Swedish kronor – in the fund.
The first half is to be used this year, while the rest is to be spent in 2026, according to sources to DR.
The announcement comes as concerns have been raised since the US made statements that Europe cannot take American military presence on the continent for granted.
