The assignment will also include computer games. It will be compiled as material aimed at social services and healthcare personnel.
"Research shows that many digital games today have elements that are similar to gambling. These can be random elements, social casino games or esports betting. Therefore, young people can encounter game mechanics long before they are allowed to play for money," says Minister of Health Elisabet Lann (KD) in a press release.
The assignment follows an audit by the National Audit Office from February. It found that municipalities and healthcare services, which are responsible for preventing and treating gambling problems, lack adequate knowledge support from the Public Health Agency of Sweden and the National Board of Health and Welfare.
