Delayed Flu Vaccine Deliveries to Limit Availability Across Sweden and Europe

Flu vaccine availability will be limited in several regions when annual vaccinations begin on November 2.

The reason is delayed deliveries to Sweden and large parts of Europe, Region Skåne (regional health authority) writes in a press release.

"As things stand, there will be vaccines for everyone aged 80 and over during the first two weeks. We will probably also be able to start vaccinating people aged 75 and over," the region's vaccine coordinator, Anna Hlebowicz, says in the press release.

Availability is expected to improve in the second half of November. However, the region's patient-facing staff are not expected to be able to get vaccinated until December or January.
