Degerfors Ends Winless Streak with Late Goals Against Sirius

Two goals in extra time made Degerfors the winner in Allsvenskan. For the first time in over four months. Sirius was defeated away with 3–1. The best feeling in a long time, says defender Nahom Netabay.

The three-pointer meant that the second-to-last team only has a three-point margin up to Halmstad, which, however, has one match less played, for a qualifying spot. And new hope in the bottom struggle.

We have all the chances. We know that we have qualities in the team, but we have not gotten it out in the best way. We have said that "as long as we get the first win", now we got it so I hope everyone believes in it even more, says Netabay to HBO Max.

Degerfors seemed to be heading for their 15th consecutive match without a win in the top division when the away meeting with Sirius stood 1–1 and the clock ticked over 90 minutes.

Then the team struck – twice.

First, new-old Dijan Vukojevic – back in Degerfors in the latest transfer window – shot 2–1 in the 91st minute.

Then Philippe Ndinga pulled in 3–1 just a minute later.

Degerfors' first win since IFK Norrköping was defeated on away ground on May 15. The win was also the head coach Henok Goitom's first top division win in the club since he took over on July 9.
