The drone was discovered by a Swedish Navy ship "in the strait" during a patrol "in Öresund", according to a press release.
"In connection with the observation, the Armed Forces took countermeasures to disrupt the suspected drone. Contact with the drone was then lost," the Armed Forces said.
No other drones have been observed. The Armed Forces are investigating whether the incident constitutes a violation of the Access Ordinance.
Earlier on Thursday, SVT Nyheter reported that a drone that took off from a Russian ship had approached the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, which is currently in the port of Malmö.
