The text message with the threats against D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, is said to have stemmed from jealousy after he received female visitors, writes TMZ.

"Oh my God, I swear, I'm going to kill you," Hernandez wrote the day before prosecutors say she was lured to the artist's house and murdered. She also allegedly threatened to take her own life. This could give the defence the opportunity to claim self-defense.

Burke will stand trial for murder, child sexual abuse and criminal trespass, a Los Angeles judge ruled on Monday.

Prosecutors allege that Burke killed the girl and dismembered her body after she threatened to expose their relationship. The artist denies the charges.
