Jamaican Kishane Thompson, silver medalist in the 100 meters at both the 2024 Paris Olympics and last year's World Championships, came second in 6.45 seconds. This continues Thompson's gold-medal drought in championships.
American Trayvon Bormell, who was fastest in the semi-final, came third.
The reigning 60-meter champion, Britain's Jeremiah Azu, was left without a medal in fourth place.
