Of the tenant-owner associations affiliated with the tenant-owner manager SBC, approximately 14 percent had to handle debt collection cases during 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.

"The fact that the numbers are not decreasing can be a cause for concern. The statistics confirm that many associations are still dealing with a strained situation, even though the economic situation has generally improved," says Therese af Jochnick, business area manager at SBC, in a press release.

At the same time, figures from the Swedish Enforcement Authority show that the number of enforcement sales has increased from 771 in 2023 to 920 in 2025.

“The increase in enforcement sales shows how important it is that associations have clear procedures for claims management and active follow-up of fee payments,” says af Jochnick.
