A 41-year-old man was buried after he and another person triggered an avalanche at an altitude of about 1,600 meters in Tyrol on Saturday morning. The man was dug out but died in hospital, the Kronen Zeitung reports.
Later that afternoon, a 21-year-old man died when a massive avalanche was triggered while he and five friends were skiing off-piste on the Hoher Zinken mountain.
120 people participated in the rescue operation, but the man's life could not be saved.
A total of seven people have died since a heavy snowstorm hit on Friday, and there is still a high avalanche danger across large parts of the Austrian Alps.
