Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin says most of them were intercepted far away, but that "36 enemy drones were destroyed as they approached Moscow."

Several Ukrainian missile strikes are also reported to have been aimed at the Belgorod area, and a fire has broken out at an infrastructure facility in the city.

Earlier, it was reported that the death toll from Russian attacks on Ukraine overnight is rising. At least 26 people have been killed in the Kyiv region and two people have been killed in Sumy, according to Ukrainian authorities.

More than 100 people are reported to have been injured.

Russia attacked Ukraine with both missiles and drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
