The death toll after the tragic nightclub accident in the Dominican Republic has risen further and now stands at 226, according to the authorities.
On Friday, the final death toll was reported to be 221 people. Since then, an additional five people who were hospitalized have died from their injuries.
Over 200 people are reported to have been injured. Fourteen are still hospitalized, four of whom have critical injuries.
It was on Tuesday night, local time, that the roof of a nightclub in the capital Santo Domingo collapsed during an ongoing concert.
