Death toll from Russian double strike on Ukrainian aid collection point rises to 37

The death toll is rising after Monday’s Russian double strike on the community of Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region. As of Wednesday morning, 37 people had been confirmed dead.

“Search and rescue operations are still underway at the scene of the tragedy,” Mykhailo Semykin, head of the regional military administration, wrote on Telegram.

Around 40 people are feared to be trapped under the rubble, public service broadcaster Suspilne reported earlier on Wednesday.

The building that was attacked was being used as a collection point for humanitarian aid, prompting the UN to strongly condemn the Russian attack.
