Witnesses say the military bombed the town of Kyauktaw in Rakhine state at noon. Initially, the separatist Arakan Army said that around 30 people had died.
The Myanmar military has not commented on the attack. The region is one of the most vulnerable and conflict-affected states in Myanmar since the military seized power in a coup in 2021.
