76 people have died in Mozambique where Cyclone Chido struck last weekend, according to the country's disaster authority. It is more than a doubling of the previous death toll.

Nearly 62,000 homes have been destroyed, according to official figures.

Chido reached Mozambique after first causing destruction in the French island group Mayotte, northwest of Madagascar. There, hundreds of people are feared to have died.
