84 cases of fatal violence were recorded in 2025, 8 fewer than the previous year. Firearms were the most common method of violence, although the number fell to 42 cases. The mass murder at Campus Risbergska in Örebro, in which 7 women and 3 men were shot to death, accounted for almost a quarter of all firearm murders.

59 of the people killed during the year were men or boys, and 25 were women or girls.

13 people were killed by an intimate partner, the same number as the year before. Fatal violence between family members (kinship) amounted to 3 cases, 11 fewer than the year before.
