Of the missiles, 116 were shot down and 22 hit 17 different locations in Ukraine, including Chernihiv in the north, AFP reports. More than 50,000 residents there are without electricity after the attacks, according to the region's public electricity company.
One of the major attacks was on Sumy in the northeast, where 15 people were injured when residential buildings and a medical facility were shelled. Emergency services were forced to suspend their work several times to seek cover from further attacks.
Earlier, on Monday evening, at least three people were killed in Nikopol in the southeast.
Russia, for its part, claims to have shot down almost 100 Ukrainian drones overnight, EFE reports, citing the Defense Ministry in Moscow.
