Rescue work is in full swing, Vladyslav Hajvanenko, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, said on Telegram.
"We are working to get an overview of damaged people and buildings," he writes.
In addition to those killed, over 20 others have been injured, Hajvanenko estimates.
The industrial city of Dnipro, north of Zaporizhia, is Ukraine's fourth largest city. During the war, the city has been repeatedly subjected to Russian missile and drone attacks.
Officials in the Sumy region in the north of the country say a civilian has been killed in a Russian drone strike.
