The attack is said to have taken place in the region's second largest city, Stary Oskol, which is located approximately ten kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov posted pictures on social media that appeared to show a burning villa with a large hole in the roof. According to Gladkov, another drone hit a residential area.
On Sunday, a Russian drone hit a bus in the city of Pavlohrad in Ukraine, killing at least twelve people, reportedly miners.
With Ukraine and Russia now negotiating with the United States as a third party, there has been talk of a limited ceasefire, but Ukraine reported continued Russian attacks this weekend.
