A car bomb has exploded at a busy courthouse in Islamabad. The Pakistani government is describing it as a suicide bombing that killed more than ten people, signaling that neighboring Afghanistan is responsible.

The bomb appears to have exploded on the street in front of the court, which is usually crowded with people passing in and out of various court hearings. And the victims are also described as mostly people who just happened to be passing by at that time. Of them, more than ten were killed and about 50 were injured, says Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi according to Pakistani media.

After a few hours, the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, writes the AFP news agency. And the Pakistani government claims that the extremists' crimes are enabled by support from Afghanistan's Taliban regime. A violent border conflict between the two neighbors flared up in October.
