Six people have died in avalanches in the French Alps this weekend. On Sunday, three skiers died in three different avalanches.

Sunday's accidents occurred in La Plagne, Courchevel and Vallorcine. In one case, a British citizen died.

This follows Saturday's events, when a total of three people died in avalanches in Val d'Isère and Arêches-Beaufort.

All died in connection with off-piste skiing, despite warnings of high avalanche risk and advice not to go off-piste.
