An unusually large number of dead seals have been found on Simrishamn's beaches in Skåne, local media reports. During Monday morning, the municipality has worked to transport the corpses away.
It has not been so many at the same time during the time I have been manager, says Linda Larsson, unit manager for public environments at Simrishamn municipality, to Ystads Allehanda.
To the newspaper, she also says that the municipality usually sends away dead seals for analysis to find out the cause of death. At least one of the seals found recently was entangled in fishing nets.
