The Darts World Championship is getting hotter and hotter. At least for the Swedish part.
After sensationally defeating the two-time World Champion Gary Anderson in the round of 32 a week ago, the championship's only Swedish hope, Jeffrey de Graaf, has advanced another step.
The Swedish-Dutch player has reached the quarterfinals after knocking out Filipino Paolo Nebrida.
Jeffrey de Graaf, ranked 81st in the world, started slowly when he lost the first set. But then de Graaf shifted gears and took control of the match. The final result was 4–1 in favor of the Swede.
In the quarterfinals, de Graaf will face a completely different level of opposition when he meets world number three Michael van Gerwen, who is a three-time World Champion.
