Sean "Diddy" Combs is charged with, among other things, rape, sexual assault, extortion, and sex trafficking. Some of the events are said to have taken place during so-called "freak-offs" – parties with drugs and sexual elements.

More than 120 people have brought accusations against him. One of them is his ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, who accuses Combs of rape and assault.

On Monday, singer Dawn Richard, who previously collaborated with Combs, gave her testimony. Richard stated in court that she had seen Combs hit and kick Ventura on one occasion.

The day after, Combs allegedly told Richard and another woman, who also witnessed the assault, that they "could disappear" if they told about what they saw.

It meant that we could die, said Richard during the trial, where she also testified about more instances where she saw him assault Ventura.

Ventura's former friend Kerrie Morgan also testified on Monday about Combs' violence against his ex-girlfriend. Morgan stated that most people around Ventura belonged to Combs' circle, and that these had influenced her view of the relationship, reports AFP.

The trial against Sean "Diddy" Combs began on May 12 and is expected to last eight weeks. He has denied the crimes, but admits to having been violent during an incident caught on film in 2016, where he assaulted Ventura.
