David Tomášek has terminated his contract with the NHL's Edmonton Oilers. It is now official that Tomášek is returning to Färjestad in the SHL.

“It’s nice to be back among familiar faces,” says Tomášek on Färjestad’s website.

The 29-year-old had great success last season and won the SHL scoring title with 24 goals and 33 assists in 47 games.

After the season, Tomášek left for Edmonton, but he had difficulty getting playing time there, and after three goals and two assists in 22 games, the contract between the club and the forward was terminated.

He has since been seen training in Karlstad, and it was only a matter of time before his return became official.

It is unclear whether Tomášek will be available to play in Tuesday's away match against Frölunda, writes Färjestad.
