According to The Guardian and The Times, the 61-year-old Scot has agreed to become Everton's new coach and is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Moyes is said to have met with the US-based owner Friedkin Group on Friday and it is expected to be officially announced on Saturday that he will take over, the newspapers report.
David Moyes was in charge of Everton between 2002 and 2013 before taking over Manchester United. His time at United was short-lived – after ten months, Moyes was fired in April 2014.
In recent years, he has coached West Ham in two stints. Moyes led the London club to the Europa Conference League title in 2023, but has been without a job since leaving West Ham in the spring of 2024.
He has also coached Spanish Real Sociedad and English Sunderland.
Everton is in 16th place in the Premier League and has only a one-point margin above the relegation line.
