The former football star David Beckham is knighted, according to both The Sun and BBC.
Beckham, 50, is expected to be on the list of names that King Charles will announce next week.
The award means that David Beckham can from now on be titled Sir David, while his wife Victoria gets the title Lady Beckham.
Beckham receives the knighthood not only for his football career but also for his work after his career, when he among other things has been a Unicef ambassador for 20 years. Recently, he also became an ambassador for King Charles' foundation.
David Beckham broke through in Manchester United and later also represented Real Madrid, Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and LA Galaxy. He played a total of 115 international matches in England's midfield.
