In March 2025, one person died, and preliminary statistics show an average of eight people died in March during 2021–2025.
A total of 26 people lost their lives in traffic accidents between January and March this year. The majority of those killed were motorists. At the same time, seven unprotected road users died.
However, the data show that there are fewer collisions over time.
"The number of fatalities in head-on collisions has been halved compared to the average for the same period in the last five years. However, single-vehicle accidents remain at about the same level," says Khabat Amin, statistician and road safety analyst at the Swedish Transport Agency, in a press release.
