Ørsted has lifted the construction freeze on the Sunrise Wind offshore wind farm off the U.S. East Coast, the Danish energy giant said in a press release.

In December, the Trump administration halted five wind farms under construction off the U.S. East Coast, arguing that the wind turbines could interfere with radar systems and mislead U.S. defenses.

The court's decision means that Sunrise Wind, located off Long Island in New York, can continue to be built while the underlying lawsuit challenging the government's decision is heard.

Ørsted received a similar notice in January for the Revolution Wind farm, which is also covered by the government's decision.
