Danish cycling star Jonas Vingegaard will start in the Tour de France, which begins in just over a week, announces his team Visma-Lease a Bike.
The 27-year-old, who has won the tour for the past two years, has spent the past few months rehabilitating serious injuries, including a punctured lung, which he sustained after a nasty crash in the Basque region at the beginning of April.
The Tour de France begins with stage 1 of 21 in Florence, Italy, on Saturday next week. Slovenian star Tadej Pogacar, who finished second behind Vingegaard in the past two editions of the tour and previously won it two years in a row, is many people's pre-race favourite.
