The 33-year-old striker has started all four of Denmark's matches in World Cup qualifying and scored two goals. Ahead of Friday's final group match, Harder is now uncertain to play due to a muscle injury.
"It's not a serious injury, but the timing is not that good. We're not taking any risks of me aggravating the injury and being out for a long time," says Harder.
It was already clear that key players Janni Thomsen and Stine Sandbech will also miss the match.
Denmark leads the qualifying group with eight points. Sweden is second with seven points.
