In the classic B-movie from 1988, a killer dressed as a police officer terrorizes the streets of New York, killing police officers and civilians repeatedly.
The themes of "Maniac Cop" are in themselves sufficient to "provoke an immediate discomfort in today's social and political climate," Winding Refn says in a press release, and continues:
“The time is ripe to unveil a radical new vision where there is no security, no safety net, only chaos.”
Filming is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in January next year.
