It has been an intensive effort for several days, says Christian Rabjerg Madsen (S) next to the now dead wolf.
According to TV2, the wolf has approached children in private gardens on three occasions, and most recently it came near a playground near the town of Nørre Nebel in central Jutland.
The "problem wolf", as Danish authorities call it, was not aggressive but also did not leave the gardens when they tried to scare it away.
Since the beginning of August, it has been hunted by both drones and hunters on the ground.
Last week, a man encountered a wolf pup with an older wolf baring its teeth in a forest in Skagen, northern Jutland.
That wolf has not been shot because it is not considered a so-called "problem wolf".
