A priest in Zealand is charged with around 80,000 images and almost 2,300 videos depicting child abuse. Hundreds of them are considered serious.
Police raided the man in May 2024 following a tip from the file-sharing service Dropbox. Parts of the material were found on the church's work computer. He has since resigned and will be stripped of the right to work as a priest.
"Like collecting stamps - but in a completely wrong way," the 60-year-old said in court in Næstved.
As a parish priest, he previously had contact with children. Among other things, he ran "spiritual care groups" for young people.
The verdict will be handed down on February 25.
