The entire hotel, as well as the area around it, will be searched for further evidence, the police said in a press release. A large police force and police dogs are participating in the operation.
The girl was lying in her stroller at the family's front door in the town of Haderslev when the suspect took the stroller and left. After an hour and a half, she was found safe in a hotel room with the 37-year-old man.
The 37-year-old man allegedly told police that he had not done anything to the child, but that he had planned to do so.
According to the prosecutor, there is nothing to indicate a relationship between the family and the suspect.
