The Danish film "The Last Resort" wins the award for best Nordic film at the Gothenburg Film Festival.

The film dared to show "with unwavering honesty" how "the heartlessness born of internal cruelty diminishes us" in a "time when our world is tipping towards fascism".

"With completely accurate acting, a razor-sharp but nuanced script and without the slightest trace of sentimentality, the film becomes a mirror in which we see ourselves with devastating clarity," the jury writes in its justification.

Adam Lundgren is awarded the gender-neutral acting award for his role in "The Beekeeper", which also wins the audience award.

"For a brave and melancholic portrait of a life illuminated by longing and shadowed by loss - where the unsaid carries greater weight than words," writes the jury.
