Danish drug convictions may be overturned – doubts about evidence

Forensic analyses may have incorrectly pointed to illegal substances in cannabis products in Denmark. Now 67 criminal cases must be reopened.

After testimony from an expert, the court concluded that the chemical process used in testing suspect products risks converting the legal substance THCA into the illegal, psychoactive THC.

After a major review of similar criminal cases, the prosecution has now decided that 67 cases must be reopened.
