Last fall, the Court of Appeal reduced the district court's sentence from two and a half years to one year and eight months. Daniel Kindberg, who was convicted of aggravated bribery, also appealed the ruling.
However, the Supreme Court has declined to grant leave to appeal, reports SVT Jämtland.
Kindberg was chairman of Östersund from 2010 to 2018, when the Jämtland football club advanced from Division 2 to Allsvenskan and won the Swedish Cup in 2017.
He was later charged with, as CEO of the municipally owned housing company Östersundshem, "requesting improper benefits and then receiving them" from a supplier.
