Spanish prosecutors say they intend to appeal last week's verdict that acquitted former football star Dani Alves of the allegations of rape.
The Brazilian was sentenced to four years and six months in prison last year for raping a woman at a nightclub in Barcelona in December 2022. But Alves appealed the verdict and was released on bail last week after paying a bail amount.
During his career, the now 41-year-old Dani Alves won numerous titles with top clubs like Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain. He also made 124 appearances for Brazil.
