The game against Edmonton was special for Dallas captain Jamie Benn. The forward scored his 400th career goal as the team won 8–3.

Benn reached the milestone when he put the away team up 1-0 just under four minutes into the game. Dallas completely dominated the first period and led 4-0 before it was over.

Edmonton's Connor Clattenburg managed to get a puck into the net in the second period, played in by Sweden's Mattias Janmark, but the team never even came close to catching up with their opponents' super lead. Before the period was over, Dallas had scored two more goals. In the end, it was an 8–3 victory.

Washington player Alex Ovechkin has scored the most goals in the NHL, a whopping 907.
