Dallas has taken hold in the quarterfinals of the Stanley Cup against Colorado and leads 3-2 in matches after a clear victory in tonight's meeting.
The home team took command directly when Wyatt Johnston set 1-0 just nine seconds into the game and could go up to 3-0 at the beginning of the second.
Then Colorado woke up and reduced the lead twice. But no closer than that did they get, instead Dallas could pull away again and go to the break with 5-2 in the back.
In the final period, Roope Hintz could then nail 6-2 in an open goal with just over two minutes left to play.
The win means that Dallas has the chance to knock out Colorado and its team captain Gabriel Landeskog as early as Thursday.
