Dahlin was the first to score in the tenth minute of the match. Just a few minutes later, American teammate Mattias Samuelsson further strengthened the lead, assisted by Swede Noah Östlund.
In the second period, Dahlin stepped up again and scored the 4–1 goal. After the game, the 25-year-old was named one of the best players of the evening. Despite that, he was not completely satisfied. Although Buffalo won, the team only had 14 shots on goal, compared with Philadelphia's 22.
"Today we scored on them, but that's an area we need to improve, and we can't be happy with 14 shots. We need more volume," Dahlin said, according to nhl.com.
The victory is Buffalo's 14th of the last 16 games played.
Dahlin has been selected for the Swedish Olympic squad for the games in Milan and Cortina next month.
