Earlier this summer, during a trip to France, Carolina Matovac suffered sudden heart failure and needed CPR. She was on life support for several weeks before undergoing a heart transplant.
At the end of last week, Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff announced that Rasmus Dahlin had traveled home to Sweden for personal reasons and would be away for an indefinite period.
"Hockey is our job, it's our lifeline. But family and private life always come before everything else," he said at a press conference.
The time off the ice was only a week.
Now Dahlin, who was selected for Sweden's Olympic team, is back in the NHL club.
She is a warrior and it is so fun to see her. She gets better every day and that is what is most important. She inspires me and many people. That is one thing for sure, says the Swede in an interview on Buffalo's X account.
Meanwhile in Sweden, Rasmus Dahlin continued his career with the SHL team Frölunda. He has joined Buffalo, who are in Detroit for tonight's game.
